BANDITK9 Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy

At BANDITK9, we take immense pride in manufacturing premium, high-strength dog training equipment and apparel. Our products are backed by mandatory consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). This policy outlines your rights and our processes for returns, refunds, repairs, and warranty assessments.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Guarantees

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

1. Manufacturing Faults & Remedies

If a product has a genuine manufacturing defect, is structurally unsafe, or fails to perform its intended purpose under normal use and handling conditions, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.
Major Failure
A major failure may exist where a product becomes unsafe, is substantially unfit for its intended purpose, significantly differs from its description, or suffers a significant structural failure under normal use. Where a major failure exists, you may choose between a refund or replacement.
Minor Failure
Where a failure does not amount to a major failure, BANDITK9 may choose to repair the item, replace it, or provide a refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. Any remedy will be provided within a reasonable timeframe. If we fail to provide a remedy within a reasonable time, you may arrange a remedy and seek reimbursement from us.
2. Change of Mind & Custom Selection Policy

Except where required under the Australian Consumer Law, BANDITK9 does not offer refunds, returns, exchanges, or order cancellations for:
-
Change of mind
-
Incorrect size measurements
-
Incorrect product selection
-

-
Finding the product cheaper elsewhere
-
Custom-made or personalised products once production has commenced
Customers are responsible for ensuring all measurements, specifications, and product selections are correct before placing an order.
Custom-Made Products
Custom-made, personalised, and made-to-order products are not eligible for return due to change of mind. However, these products remain covered by the consumer guarantees provided under the Australian Consumer Law.
Technical Gear Disclaimer & Lifespan Information
BANDITK9 designs heavy-duty equipment intended as training and handling aids only. No fabric, webbing, stitching, hardware, or other component is indestructible or designed to last indefinitely. Dog equipment is subjected to significant forces, environmental conditions, and wear over time.

3. Intended Use & Safety
-
BANDITK9 products are intended for use with dogs under the supervision of a competent handler.
-
No leash, collar, long line, toy, or training accessory can guarantee restraint, prevent injury, or eliminate risk. Customers are responsible for selecting equipment appropriate for their dog’s size, strength, temperament, and training level.
-
For safety, all equipment should be inspected before each use and removed from service if signs of excessive wear, damage, or deterioration are observed.
-
BANDITK9 products are designed as training and handling aids only. Customers are responsible for ensuring equipment is used appropriately, maintained correctly, and regularly inspected for wear or damage. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BANDITK9 will not be liable for loss, injury, damage, or expenses arising from misuse, improper use, failure to inspect equipment, inadequate maintenance, modification of products, or use of equipment beyond its intended purpose.
4. What Is Generally Not Covered

The following types of damage are generally considered misuse, accidental damage, inadequate maintenance, or normal wear and tear and are not covered unless a manufacturing defect has contributed to the failure.
Chewing & Bite Damage
Damage caused by a dog chewing, biting, or mouthing the equipment.
Sharp Objects & Environmental Abrasion
Cuts, tears, fraying, burns, or abrasion caused by dragging equipment over rough concrete, rocks, fencing, asphalt, metal, or other abrasive surfaces.
Chemical Exposure & Improper Cleaning
Damage, weakening, discolouration, corrosion, or deterioration caused by bleach, solvents, harsh chemicals, industrial cleaners, or cleaning methods inconsistent with product care instructions.
Improper Storage
Damage resulting from prolonged exposure to weather, UV radiation, moisture, mould, mildew, or storage while wet or damp.
Odour, Saliva & Cosmetic Wear
Normal staining, fading, dirt accumulation, odours, cosmetic scratches, and appearance changes resulting from regular use.
Natural Hardware Wear
Wear of moving components including snaps, buckles, clips, springs, and rings resulting from normal use, friction, sand exposure, saltwater exposure, corrosion, or age-related deterioration.
Product Lifespan
BANDITK9 recommends replacing heavily used training equipment and hardware approximately every 12–24 months depending on frequency of use, environmental conditions, and loading demands.
This recommendation is general safety guidance only and does not constitute a warranty period or limit any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Return Process & Fault Assessments

If you believe a product has a manufacturing defect or has failed to meet the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law:
-
Contact BANDITK9 as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering the issue.
-
Provide your order number or proof of purchase.
-
Supply clear photographs and/or videos showing the suspected defect.
-
If requested, return the item for inspection.
BANDITK9 may request the return of a product for inspection before determining an appropriate remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.
Delayed reporting will not automatically affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, although prompt reporting may assist us in assessing the issue efficiently.

6. Return Shipping Costs
Confirmed Manufacturing Faults
Where a manufacturing defect or ACL-related fault is confirmed, BANDITK9 will cover reasonable return shipping costs. If you have already paid return postage, reasonable costs will be reimbursed upon confirmation of the fault. Please retain proof of postage.
No Fault Found
Where inspection determines that damage resulted from misuse, accidental damage, chewing, inadequate maintenance, environmental damage, or normal wear and tear, the customer will be responsible for any return shipping costs if they wish to have the item returned.
