Effective Date: 30 August 2026

BANDITK9 Cancellation & Booking Policy

At BANDITK9, we value the time of our clients and strive to provide the highest standard of professional dog training services. This Booking & Cancellation Policy explains how appointments, deposits, cancellations and rescheduling are managed.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. Bookings

Training sessions may be booked through our website, by email, phone or any other approved booking method.

A booking is not confirmed until:

  • we have accepted your booking; and

  • any required payment or deposit has been received.

We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion where it is unsafe, impractical or outside our service scope.

2. Deposits

Where a deposit is required:

  • the deposit amount will be advised before confirmation;

  • deposits are applied towards the total cost of your booking unless otherwise stated.

3. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due at the time of booking or before the commencement of the training session.

Accepted payment methods are displayed on our website or advised at the time of booking.

4. Client Responsibilities

Before your appointment, you must advise us if:

  • your dog has bitten a person or another animal;

  • your dog displays aggressive or dangerous behaviour;

  • your dog has any contagious illness or injury;

  • your dog has any medical condition that may affect training.

Failure to provide accurate information may result in the session being cancelled or ended without refund where permitted by law.

5. Cancellations by the Client

If you need to cancel your booking, please provide as much notice as possible.

  • More than 48 hours' notice: We will offer a reschedule or refund of any prepaid amount, unless otherwise agreed.

  • 24 to 48 hours' notice: We may retain any deposit to cover costs already incurred or offer to transfer the booking at our discretion.

  • Less than 24 hours' notice or failure to attend (no-show): We may retain any deposit, or charge a fee up to the full session cost, to the extent this reflects our reasonable costs or losses resulting from the cancellation (for example, lost income where the session slot could not be rebooked).

Any cancellation fee will reflect our genuine, reasonable costs and will not exceed what is permitted under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where a cancellation is due to circumstances reasonably outside your control (such as sudden illness, injury, or an emergency), we will consider this in good faith and may offer a reduced fee, reschedule, or partial refund at our discretion.

6. Rescheduling

Clients may request to reschedule an appointment.

Where sufficient notice is provided, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a new appointment time, subject to availability.

Repeated rescheduling requests may require a new booking or deposit.

7. Late Arrival

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to avoid impacting other scheduled clients.

The full session fee may still apply.

If you are significantly late and unable to complete the session, it may be treated as a cancellation.

8. Cancellation by BANDITK9

We may reschedule or cancel a booking where necessary due to:

  • trainer illness;

  • safety concerns;

  • emergencies;

  • equipment failure;

  • circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where we cancel a booking, you may choose to:

  • reschedule your appointment; or

  • receive a full refund of any payment made for the cancelled session.

9. Unsafe Behaviour

BANDITK9 reserves the right to refuse or immediately stop a training session if:

  • a dog presents an unacceptable safety risk;

  • the owner fails to follow reasonable safety instructions;

  • abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour occurs.

Where a session ends due to unsafe behaviour or undisclosed information provided by the client, a refund may not be available to the extent permitted by law.

10. Refunds

Refunds relating to training services will be assessed in accordance with:

  • this Booking & Cancellation Policy;

  • our Website Terms & Conditions; and

  • the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights to a remedy where required under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Force Majeure

BanditK9 is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, transport disruptions or other unforeseen events.

Where practical, affected appointments will be rescheduled.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Booking & Cancellation Policy from time to time.

The current version will always be available on our website.

13. Training Packages

Where a client purchases a 10-session training package, all sessions must be used within 10 weeks from the date of the first training session, unless otherwise agreed in writing by BANDITK9.

Any unused sessions remaining after the 10-week period will expire and will not be refunded, except where required under the Australian Consumer Law or where BANDITK9 has agreed to an extension due to exceptional circumstances.

Clients are encouraged to book sessions in advance to ensure availability within the package period. Extensions may be granted at BANDITK9's sole discretion where circumstances outside the client's reasonable control have prevented attendance.
